| A hobbyist approach to African Claw Frogs | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| African Claw frogs (ACF) belong to the genus Xenopus and the most common and popular species kept as pets is Laevis. Xenopus means "strange foot and laevis means "smooth." These frogs are easy distinguished by there lack of webbing in there front legs. They have webbed back feet with three black claws on the outer most parts of the fin. Their eyes are located on top of their heads and they are irresistible. These 100% aquatic frogs are addicting and loving and its hard to have just one. I own eight ACF and they amaze me everyday. Each frog has a different personality as well as distinct pigmentation patterns. These frogs are easy to care for and will provide you with hours of entertainment. In my site I will talk about how to care for these wonderful animals. I will also have a frog journal and many pictures to share. I hope you enjoy my site and come back often. -Jaclyn |
